What I read in 2024

2024 was a year of diverse literary adventures. I'm incredibly grateful for the books I encountered, each offering a unique escape and a deeper understanding of the world around me.

Captivating novels transported me to different realms, these stories enriched my life in countless ways. I'm thankful for the authors who shared their creativity and for the power of reading to connect us all through shared experiences and emotions.

BOOKS I READ

I delved into the witty and heartwarming world of "Funny Story" by Emily Henry, finding solace and laughter in its relatable depiction of modern romance. It is because of this book that i started my 2024’s reading journey and was hooked till the year end.

Elif Shafak's "There Are Rivers in the Sky" and "Forty Rules of Love" transported me to the mystical realm of Sufism, offering profound insights into love, faith, and the human condition. There were moments of such beauty and sadness that I couldn't help but shed a few tears. This is a book that lingers long after you've turned the final page, leaving you with a sense of peace and a renewed appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things.

Turning to the enchanting prose of Ruskin Bond, "Death Under the Deodars" and "The Room on the Roof" evoked the magic of the Indian Himalayas, immersing me in tales of adventure and nostalgia. During the year end, I squeezed in 'Maharani,' a delightfully quick and easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed.". Ruskin Bond's stories evoke childhood wonder, offering a sense of belonging and comfort. They can be a source of healing, allowing readers to process past traumas by re-experiencing the joys and innocence of childhood

"The Last Bear" by Hannah Gold, while poignant, shed light on the urgent issue of climate change and its impact on endangered species.

Finally, "Welcome to Hynam-dong Bookshop" by Hwang Bo-reum offered a heartwarming escape, celebrating the enduring power of books and the unique connections they foster. 'Welcome to Hynam-dong Bookshop' was a book club pick which was a truly enriching experience. The novel beautifully captured the comforting power of books and the unique connections they foster. Throughout the story, I found myself reflecting on my own relationship with reading and the role it plays in my life. There were many moments that resonated deeply with me, reminding me that the joys and struggles I experience as a reader are shared by others.

These books, each in its own way, enriched my understanding of the world and provided much-needed respite and inspiration throughout the year.
